The morning shows opened with 50 percent occupancy at several circuits. Though in the evening and night shows the film registered very good occupancy at the box office due to Good Friday holiday across the country.
This crosses Rs 24.55 crore in two days.
With this, we won’t be surprised, if 2 States crosses the Rs 100 crore mark soon. Keep watching this space for the latest update.
2 States has managed an excellent first day and has managed to collect approximately Rs 120 million (Rs 12 crore) nett on it’s opening day; April 18, 2014. The opening day collection of 2 States has been the third best of 2014 after Jai Ho and Gunday.
A screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel by the same name, 2 States is the story about a Punjabi boy who falls in love with a Tamil girl, and the ensuing cultural clashes between them and their families. The film is being directed by Abhishek Varman.
Starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles, their amazing chemistry worked its charm on the audiences. A good footfall was seen in multiplexes and single screens too. With a holiday on the occasion of Good Friday, 2 States had reasons to smile as people flocked to the theaters.
Coming Friday, April 25, 2014 shall see the release of two films; Kaanchi and Revolver Rani. Now it would be interesting to see how these films fare at the Box Office.
