Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone starrer Tamil period drama Kochadaiiyaan, has finally got its release date and that’s May 09, 2014. Media One Global Entertainment and Eros International jointly produce Kochadaiiyaan.
The release of Superstar Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone starrer KOCHADAIIYAAN was pushed ahead quite a few times and there were numerous speculations regarding it. In fact, at one point it was touted that Rajinikanth’s KOCHADAIIYAAN will clash with Amitabh Bachchan starrer BHOOTHNATH RETURNS. However, the clash of titans got averted.
Touted to be India's first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated film, Kochadaiiyaan is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin. It has been made on a budget of Rs 125 crore.
“The team was counting on Deepika’s tremendous star-power at the many promotional events. But now with her unavailability Rajni Sir might make an exception and come forward to promote Kochadaiyaan at selected events,” says a core member of the film’s team.
The movie also stars Jackie Shroff, R.Sarathkumar, Naseer, Shobana and Aadi Pinisetty in the supporting roles. The music of the movie has been given by two times Oscar winner A. R. Rahman.
"The movie is being released in six languages and the producers want it to be released simultaneously. So if we do not get a satisfactory number of screens for the all movies, then we might need to find a date that accommodates them," a spokesperson for the film's production company told the daily.
